Our first big family vacation!

Friday, May 30th:
We left for North Carolina early Friday morning~4am to be exact! All packed up the night before, we were ready to go. Squeezing: pillows, blankets, books, magazines, games, knitting stuff, clothes, cameras, was a such task! We managed to have the car ready and loaded the night before. Aunt Jen and Aunt Sarah was gracious enough to watch you, Raeghan, while Mommy packed.

Here's how our trip went:
As soon as you got into the car, Raeghan, you said "Hey, isn't it so special that we all get to be together as a family." (You're too little to be talking like that!) Ahhh...we loved hearing that. Then you said, "Hey! The moons up with us!" Much to our surprise you didn't sleep one bit. Instead you decided you wanted to talk...A LOT.

It's now nearing 6:45am and Daddy is getting really sleepy. (We did stay up the night before until 1am) So I hopped in the drivers seat and drove till 10am. We stopped at McD's and sat down for breakfast. You both were so glad to get out of your car seats.

Finally, we're back on the road and you guys are napping. On the road for another long stretch. We made it in the car till around 1:30pm and stopped at an outlet mall. Both of you ran through the stores and got a lot of energy out at the toy store (jumping in their bounce house).

Our destination was Asheville, NC. We were staying with a sweet family that Rosie knew. They loved you both and were the best of host.

Saturday, May 31st: Wedding day! Rosie and Tim's wedding was so much fun. We enjoyed our time while the family (Mr. and Mrs. "C") watched you both back at the house. What a blessing!

Sunday, June 1st:
We woke up and drove to our resort in Lake Lure, NC. It was a 2 hour drive through curvy roads up a mountain. Daddy LOVED driving and thought he was a race car driver. Thank goodness we didn't get sick or hit a deer!

Monday, June 2nd:
We enjoyed the poolside, beach area, and playground they had. We loved watching you both play in the water together. Oh, and we went on a HUGE shopping trip to the local grocery store. That was fun! We even had to buy detergent.

Tuesday, June 3rd:
We grabbed a couple of puzzles and games from the front desk area. Raeghan, you LOVE puzzles. You're getting better and better each time. We didn't realize how much you enjoy doing them. Mommy also got a 750 piece puzzle--that I'm proud to say I finished by the last night!!!

Wednesday, June 4th:
Mommy got a massage and facial at the day spa they had on site. That was a special treat and first time for a facial. Daddy stayed back with you both and took naps.
This evening we decided we'd walk 2.5 miles down to the pool area and ice cream shop. Our townhouse was 1.2 miles away from all the activity. So...off we all went. Raeghan, you didn't have a stroller and were a trooper. We made it fun for you and went on a scavenger hunt. On the way home we saw two deer in the road...literally 10 ft from us. They were very used to humans being around.
Daddy played Xbox 360 after you both went to bed! FUN!

Thursday, June 5th:
We packed up and headed to see Kathleen, Jason, Isaac, Josiah, Seth, and Selah in Concord, NC. We got there around 2:30pm and left there at 2:00am! You kids all had a blast together. Kat and Jason had a zip line and playground in their yard. We played, ate dinner at Applebee's, and ate ice cream at home. Paeton, you were intrigued with the tire on Isaac's bike. You must have sat there for 45mins spinning it.

Friday, June 6th:
Our last day! We did everything we wanted to do this day. We played mini golf-Raeghan you got a hole n 1!!! Paeton, you just kept throwing your ball in the hole and circling the flag pole in the holes. It was quite amusing! After that we went to the local pub and deli ordered pizza and played candy land at the table. Daddy and I had a special moment when we talked about how much we enjoyed our time together on this trip.

Saturday, June 7th:
Drive home to Florida...we made it in 14 hours. Lots of potty/food breaks! Glad but sad to be home.
